CUB SCOUTS HISTORY

The 11th Toronto Group, under the sponsorship of the Hong Kong Old Scout Association, Ontario, is formed by a group of Scout Leaders immigrated from Hong Kong. We are the first Chinese Scout Group and also the first co-ed group in Ontario.

When the Group was first established in October 1990, we had only 16 Wolf Cubs and 12 Scouts. However, the membership had increased to over 60 when we held our Inauguration Ceremony on August 25, 1991. Our Venturer Company was formed in September 1992 for our over aged Scouts members. Because of the fast growing members in Scout section, the Troop was split into Troop A and Troop B in September 1993. Further more, as requested by parents and leaders, we established a Beaver Colony and a Rover Crew in September 1994. Hence, the Group became a complete Scout Group of a total strength of over 250 members. In September 1998, thanks to the continues support of the parents and leaders, the membership of the Group grew up to more than 300.

The Group is very grateful to the parents, staff of the Agincourt Area and Greater Toronto Region for their valuable assistance and unfailing support in the past and we look forward to their continued encouragement and support in the years to come.
